1 – Change of CEO at MKS PAMP

Effective 1 January 2025, James Emmett will take on the role of CEO at MKS PAMP, financial and physical precious metals trading, succeeding Marwan Shakarchi.

 

 

2 – CFO at Swiss Steel Group

Following Marco Portmann‘s departure from Swiss Steel Group for personal reasons after morethan 19 years, Thomas Löhr will be the new CFO and member of the Executive Board of Swiss Steel Group.

 

 

3. New senior Trader Pierre Chapuis at Axpo

Pierre Chapuis was appointed as the new Head of Petroleum and Green Fuels Trading. With abackground spanning more than 20 years in the oil industry, Chapuis haspreviously worked as a crude trader at companies like Mercuria, Petroplus,and Cargill.

 

4 – Keir Ashton to join Varo Energy

 Effective September 1st, Keir Ashton will take on the position of General Counsel at VARO Energy, with his main base of operations being in Zug, Switzerland.

 

 

5 – New CEO at BRS Shipbrokers

 BRS’ long-time President Francois Cadiou stepped down, and Gilbert Walter, the current CEO of BRS Shipbrokers, was elected to take over as thenew President and CEO of the group.

 

6 – New member of the leadership team at Targray

 Erik Rietkerk has been appointed to Targray‘s Executive Leadership Team as the Global Head of Agricommodities and Co-Head of Biofuels & Feedstock.

 

 

7 – Ex-Trafigura metals boss Kostas Bintas to run a team of 40 at rival Mercuria

 Kostas Bintas is set to collaborate once again with a part of the team he previously workedwith at Trafigura. During his time there, he successfully led a significant growth of thecompany’s copper division, surpassing Glencore to become the top trader of the metal globally.

 

8 – Head of Metals Ops at Trafigura and Co-Head of Battery Metals to join Mercuria

 According to sources, Svetlana Kabanova, who previously held the position of Head of Metals Operations at Trafigura, has officially joined Mercuria in her new role.

 

 

9 – New energy trading company in Lugano

 Nicola Stricchiola (CEO) and Benedict Sciortino (President) will lead Sirius Energy SA.

Several DXT Commodities‘ employees have joined the company.

 

10 – Hartree Partners expanding

The company recently recruited multiple Traders to expand its physical power business in the United States, aspart of a trend where various commodity firms are entering the highly volatileand lucrative markets. The new hires include:

Jackie Sparling, a former Calpine Corp Trader.

 

Andrew Mardirossian, previously with CitigroupInc., as East Power Trader in Houston.

Ryan Renshaw, with more than 15 years of experience at Shell Plc.
